Create Better Health // Broccoli Radish Salad

Have you ever wondered what steps you can take to create better health? We all want to live a healthy, happy life, don’t we? With an overwhelming amount of health and nutrition information available to us, it can be intimidating knowing where to start. Reigning information in and keeping it on the simple side is a great way to tackle the task. As you get in the habit of making simple changes to create better health, you will eventually change your habits and lifestyle which will lead to big changes over time. Consider these four steps:

  1. Plan – It is difficult to make change happen without a plan. Having a specific plan gives you direction and holds you accountable. A plan can be as simple or complex as you would like. If you are just getting started, keep things simple and easily measured.  If you want to challenge yourself, consider reaching higher and making bigger goals. Check out our 52-week challenge for guidance on weekly goals. Follow along step by step, or pull bits and pieces to create your own plan. Check out weekly blog posts here on for information to help you reach your goals.  Also checkout for tips to help you plan to save, plan a menu, and plan to shop.
  2. Cook – Sometimes creating better health is as simple as altering your cooking methods. Healthy foods can quickly become less healthy by the way we prepare and cook them. For tips on healthy cooking, all the way from the basics to cooking safely, click here.
  3. Eat – A big part of creating better health is what you put in your body. When you eat better, you feel better. When you feel better, life is easier. You can find great recipes here on, and by following us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. Here are a few more of my favorite places to find healthy recipes:
    1. Snappily Ever After
    2. Food $ense Utah
    3. Kids Create
    4. Food $ense Website
  4. Move – Planning, cooking, and eating are just a few pieces of the puzzle. You can’t complete the puzzle without the last piece, physical activity. The amount and type of physical activity needed varies by individual. Check out the Create An Active Lifestyle posts here on Eat Well Utah as well as the information provided by MyPlate on physical activity.

As you put your plan to create better health in place, try Broccoli Radish Salad. Yummy veggies and a tangy dressy are sure to please your taste buds. Enjoy!
