We all know that we need exercise to be healthy. Do you enjoy exercise, or do you consider it a chore? Acefitness.org tells us that long-term success with health and fitness is possible only when we change how we think about health behaviors. If you think of exercise as a chore or an obligation, you only do it because you have to. When you switch your mindset, being active can go from chore, to choice, to desire.
If you consider exercise a chore, it often gets skipped or pushed to the bottom of your to do list. Once you decide to take action, you’ve made the choice for exercise to be a priority. What about desire? Is it really possible to desire exercise? It may come down to altering your thought pattern. Next time you catch yourself thinking, “I have to exercise”, quickly change that thought to, “I get to exercise”. A simple change in the way you think about exercise is a positive step in the right direction. Before you know it, that positive thought has lead you to the desire to exercise.
