The holidays are here, and the snow has started to fall. It is such a magical time of year, but it can also be a time where we forget about healthy eating. It’s tempting to feast on all the yummy cookies, candies, and other holiday treats. While those indulgences can be good in moderation, it is also important to prioritize our health and nutrition.

Nutrition.gov shares five tips to help make your holiday a healthy one.

  1. Start the day right with a healthy breakfast.
  1. Make fruits and vegetables part of your holiday plate.
  1. Choose nutritious cooking methods.
  1. Add exercise to the calendar.
  1. Remember to hydrate.

Do not be hard on yourself if you fall off healthy eating for a couple days. Just find ways to incorporate healthy eating into your holiday celebrations. It can be as simple as bringing a fruit or vegetable tray to a holiday party rather than your favorite chocolate truffles. How will you make this holiday season healthy?

Here is a healthy-ish recipe that is still a cookie!
